Engineered bamboo flooring is constructed differently from solid and stranded bamboo flooring. Engineered bamboo planks feature a sublayer of plywood upon which bamboo is placed. Some of the perks associated with our wholesale engineered bamboo flooring include:

• Due to the construction process, planks can actually be made a bit wider than normal
• Engineered bamboo flooring is the easiest to install, due to click-locks
• Planks are more resistant to water damage and moisture than solid bamboo
• Relatively little dimensional fluctuation occurs as a result of seasonal changes in temperature

Due to their structure, these planks actually have a little bit more “flex” than solid bamboo, though this only comes into play when they’re utilized as part of a “floating” floor. Though it is more water-resistant and better suited for use in a basement than solid bamboo, engineered bamboo still should not be used in a bathroom with highly variable degrees of humidity.
