Community Involvement
At the heart of Wooduwdy Wholesale Flooring’s culture is the commitment to giving back to those less fortunate, community involvement, reforestation, and the education of future generations. There are several ways in which Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring is actively committed to helping those in need. One of the ways in which we serve our local community and those around us is that we regularly work with and provide flooring to Habitat to Humanity which provides homes to those in poverty. We also regularly provide flooring to local schools, libraries, government agencies, churches, jails, fire stations, funeral homes, mosques, and religious organizations in our community as well. As part of our local involvement, it has been a passion of Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project monthly. Caring for our veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country is the least we can do to give back to those who have given so much. Part of the proceeds of every purchase, enables us to donate more and more to this noble cause.
Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring is as also committed to supporting charities and non-profit organizations worldwide as well. Once the earthquake in Haiti in 2010 occurred, Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring sprang into action providing flooring to help rebuild homes and create a documentary of an orphanage in Port-a-Prince, Haiti through the relief efforts of Bethel Mission Outreach. Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring has also raised funds for providing a village in Cameroon with a Library, as well as F.R.E.M. local outreach of feeding the impoverished in Lithonia, Georgia as well. We have also partnered with local charities in constructing and building a well in Tanzania so that a whole village had access to a clean water supply.
At Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring, part of our culture is sustainability and conservation. To be an eco-friendly company, we felt that part of our philosophy as a hardwood flooring business would be to replenish the nonrenewable resource of hardwoods by planting trees with every purchase. We have partnered with organizations such as the National Forest Foundation and we donate a percentage of every order to have forestland replanted. Having partnered with organizations such as these as well as utilizing lumber mills that also invest in planting young trees, we, as a nation, are seeing a growth in our forestland whereas other countries have seen a decrease.
Another way in which Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring serves its community and educates the future generations about sustainability and conservation, is that Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring goes to schools, non-profits, mom’s groups, among others to teach children how to be eco-conscious through hands-on demonstrations. We host workshops where we bring a box from the National Hardwood Foundation that is full of products made from trees. We teach the children how these products are made from non-renewable resources, and, afterwards, we do a small planting demonstration with the children for them to understand the concept of replanting and renewing the earth. We provide classrooms with seeds, soil, and cups, and children plant their own seeds in their own cups to take home as a reminder to them that we need to give back and care for the earth. It is our goal not only to be a flooring company, but to also make a difference in this generation and for generations to come. If you would like Woodwudy Wholesale Flooring to come out and do a conservation and sustainability demonstration at your school, library, mom’s group, non-profit, or event, please contact us at sales@woodwudyshop.com or 1-877-966-3983 (877-WOODWUDY). We would be honored to be a part of your event at no charge to you, and partner with you to teach children, among others, how to care for our planet!
